Armand was raised by abusive parents. He was often in trouble for things he never did, and was ultimately blamed for the death of his baby brother, Bastien, and Bastien’s twin sister, Claire. They were two years old, and he was twelve. They passed in a house fire, and nobody ever found out if he was the one that caused it or not, but it is widely known that he was smoking pot. His parents blamed him and punished him well for it, and never really looked at him the same way.
His father, Henri, was an army man, (which is how he got his name. Armand in itself means army man) and expected very much discipline from the hyper boy. While he was very strict with him, he was also a rather good influence on the boy’s life when he wasn’t causing trouble. He took him to the park, and taught him how to fight and how to make things from metal.
His mother, Adélaïde, was a seamstress, and was perhaps even harsher. She would lock him in the closet until his father came home if he had gotten into trouble with her, and would refuse to allow him dinner on nights he had been punished, even if his father wanted him to eat. However, she did teach him how to sew, cook, and paint.
Through the years, ‘Sous forced himself to accept whatever pain was brought to him, and learned to blame himself for it. Eventually, he ended up liking pain… either causing it, or feeling it. When he was 16, his father had a heart attack during a fight with him, and he blamed himself. His mother blamed him, too. She threw him out, and disowned him. After being arrested for some stupid crime to survive, she turned him away and refused to help. Shortly after that, she committed suicide. After his hearing, he was sent to an orphanage until he was 18. He was juggled from family to family, but nobody ever kept him for very long, and in between, he sought refuge in the streets, and after killing his roommate at the orphanage, he went on the run, just a few months before his 18th birthday.

Bad news, @noodelzmop. Arbitration basically means that if you want to sue Discord for whatever reason, the dispute needs to be handled in house. Specifically, in their house. If you donāt get this email out, youāre basically signing away your right to legal recourse if they do criminally shitty stuff to you, like with the McDonalds app.

New TL;DR: download @twistedmexiās ModGuard [link and explanation here], and continue to stick to trusted download sources.
Hey, all! Not sure how many people will see this, but if you do, please reblog. This is a ālittleā post regarding a potentially big problem affecting the Sims 4 community. If you download mods/CC at all (and yes I know CC is a type of mod), this applies to you.
TL;DR: For the sake of your personal info, identity, bank account, et cetera, please STOPdownloading any mods/CC for the time being. Especially from the following sites: CurseForge, ModTheSims, The Sims Resource. It doesnāt matter if you know the creator or not. Give it at least a week while we all figure out whatās going on. If you must, I would recommend only downloading directly from a creatorās Patreon (assuming they have one).

Got confirmation from Kuttoe that as long as you didnāt boot up the game with the malicious mods installed (or deleted them completely from your computer before playing the game), you *should* be fine. Still, I recommend that anyone who thinks they might have downloaded any of them run the cleaner program.

So, to recap:
Fake mods were uploaded to Curseforge, ModTheSims, and The Sims Resource
@msqsimsofficial had their account compromised on 2 of those sites (they are a victim of hacking, so do not send them hate!)
If downloaded, these malicious mods have the ability to steal very sensitive info (your passwords, credit card info if saved somewhere in your browser, data)
As of right now, antivirus software may not be able to detect the malware
Mac and Linux users seem to be safe; Windows users are the ones that could be affected
Why is this happening?
Unsure. Lots of theories are being made by people far more knowledgeable than me, but from the looks of things, could be crypto bullshit and/or an attempt to steal your data and sell it. This is very, very serious, and could wreck your life if said data/personal info falls into the wrong hands.
Itās always a good idea to change passwords every couple of months or so, but if you think youāve been affected, you also need to change your passwords for things like online banking, email and social media accounts, healthcare sites AFTER running the cleaner.
What now?
I want to talk about how we approach modding our games and downloading files in general.
Please STOP downloading mod file folders from people who did not create the specific mods. Period. This includes Sim dumps, building/lots with CC, mod folders promoted on YouTube, etc. This does not mean that anyone sharing them is doing so maliciously. In fact, I appreciate the amount of effort people put into compiling these resources! But unless youāre super careful (and super knowledgeable), you run the risk of downloading malware like this on your computer. Make no mistake, the malicious files in question look like run-of-the-mill, everyday mods. Two of them were even posted from a trustworthy creatorās actual account! The only way to know what they actually do is to peek into the code, and idk about you, but I donāt know Python. So even after this issue is resolved, you really should only download files from the creators themselves.
But what about CC shopping?
Hereās how I like to approach it: I stick to lookbooks and combing through the Patreons/accounts of creators who make items I like. If I see a Sim dump with CC that Iām interested, I try to reach out to the poster and ask where they got specific CC. If I canāt do that, I see if it was shared via Drive, look at the individual files themselves, then head to the original CC creatorās official download page and get it from the source.

“Dirty and smelly from sleep? As opposed to smelling of grease and food after sweating his ass off in a kitchen?” She snorted. “Sweatpants make you sweat. It’s in the name.”
She rolled her eyes. “So your love is conditional. You love him until you view him as a slob. My husband was depressed. He’d go days, sometimes weeks without showering. He’d show up to the table in his pajamas, hair a mess. It wasn’t appealing, but he was trying, and we were happy to have him with us. There were too many days with his chair empty. And now he’s gone. We can’t have those days back. What I wouldn’t give for another day with him. I don’t care if he rolled around in pig shit, if it got him to the table to have another meal with us. You’re prioritizing appearance over Armand. Over your relationship. You take him for granted, and what you want is to control him. You’ve said it yourself. You want him to need you. That’s not a relationship. That’s control.”
